The BEST tour company I've ever experienced!
If you are looking for AMAZING tour guides that will literally feel like FAMILY by the time your trip is over...DEFINITELY book with Awuni Tours! I can't say enough about our experiences with them in Ghana. They took care of every, single thing we needed and stayed with our group every step of the way! By the time we left Ghana, Francis, Emmanuel, and Kojo felt more like our cousins than people we had only known for 8 days. They are so knowledgeable about the history of Ghana and they took us to the BEST places so that we could get really immersed in the culture and the people (the naming ceremony, cooking class, and last bath were some of my favorite experiences!). They made sure we had the most comfortable experiences and safety was never a concern for the entire trip. Awuni tours made Ghana feel like HOME. Awuni Tours helped make my 60th birthday the most memorable
Thanks to Awuni Tours Ghana, it was a truly amazing 60th birthday experience that fed my soul. As much as I travel, I can't say that I've ever been to a place that was more welcoming. I didn't feel like a tourist or an outsider. I mainly went for the naming ceremony, but I was also looking forward to learning some truths, standing where the ancestors stood and hiking my arthritic knee to the Wli falls. In fact, the whole 9 days was non-stop action-packed amazement in a few differnt regions. It included several traditional drumming events and birthday salutes, kente village, fabric shops, museums, shopping, sunset on the coast, sitting outside in the rain, black star, canopy bridges (ugh), dungeons/castles, schools and oh the monkeys! Every time I think I'm done with the list, I think of more things that we did. I signed the memorial wall of return on my 60th LIVE day with my new name. There was a tour of Jamestown where we met the ‘Champ,’ experienced traditional dancing and Adinkra stamping, and had clothes made from the fabrics we bought. I would be remiss if I didn't mention how yummy the food is. Red Red is my new fav, and I’ve fixed it twice for potlucks! Although I know Awuni Tours is a business, I truly felt like Francis, David and the other Francis (our driver) were there JUST FOR ME and my birthday. I strongly recommend them for ANY Ghana visit - no matter how small or large. We Heart Ghana
I feel so blessed and humbled by this experience. I could not die without returning to the land of my ancestors. I had to place my feet on the soil were they walked, were they went through hell on earth. I had to take this trip for all those ancestors who refused to die and never made it back home. My experience with Awuni Tours from start to finish was phenomenal! Francis was always quick to respond during the planning process. Even when I forgot the the time difference and called him at 4 a.m. he answered! ...Our tour guide, JoJo, was the hostess with the mostest! We felt so comfortable and at home with him from the moment he picked us up from the airport. He was always two steps ahead of us anticipating our every need. Allowing my daughter and I to just relax and take in the full experience. We pretty much adopted him into our family! The tour is packed with culturally and historically rich experiences and you can customize what you would like to do. Our most memorable was the naming ceremony, Cape Coast Castle, and slave river. The views from the waterfall and Kakum bridges were awesome. Ghana is so rich in natural resources and talent. We living in the Diaspora must look for ways to contribute, invest and further develop the country. If we don't, groups that look nothing like us will and profit from it. My Trip of a Lifetime!!!
There are not enough words that I can say to express the level of gratitude and thanks to Awuni Tours. The level of professionalism and attention to detail provided on my trip “ home” to Ghana was fantastic. I say “home” because it is the Motherland. Awuni Tours was able to curate a tour packed with cultural, historical, spiritual, culinary, and nature experiences that I will carry with me throughout my life. It was a joy being immersed with my people and the welcoming spirit of all of Ghana. All of the experiences were tastefully crafted and put together well. I would personally like to thank Francis Awuni and Emmanuel for making sure all of our individual tourist needs were met ( from roadside delivery of a royal stool to ensuring extra luggage was purchased for souvenirs, etc.). Emmanuel is the absolute best and I will never forget the level of attentiveness and care given to the group. We felt safe, cultured, and one with Ghana! There were also surprises (that Awuni Tours had in store for us) that we had no idea about. I won’t give every detail away! You’ll have to book Awuni Tours and see for yourself! There were so many activities that were amazing, but the ancestral river experience was the most touching. I was able to connect with God, our Ancestors, and myself. The best, most life changing vacation experience!!!❤️
First, let me start by saying that my trip back home to the Motherland was absolutely amazing!!! No words can actually do it justice. It was cultural, educational, emotional, spiritual and fun! It was definitely a life changing experience that I will forever treasure. I can’t wait to return bc one week just wasn’t enough time. It was a blessing and honor to walk barefoot on the ground of my ancestors as the ground will never forget my feet. Thank you so much Francis for organizing the perfect tour! I went to celebrate my birthday and also experience the culture. It was everything I wanted. Thank you Felix for not only getting us to each of our destinations, but staying with us and waiting patiently. Last, but certainly not least… Emmanuel! I can’t say enough about his kindness, generosity, attentive spirit… the list goes on. I’ve been on a few vacations and Emmanuel is hands down the best tour guide I’ve ever had! He negotiated prices for us. He even took my phone and captured all of the special moments. This allowed us to be present in the moment and enjoy our vacation. Please, if you have the opportunity, make that visit back home, but when you do, make sure you book Awuni Tours. They are LITERALLY the best!!! You will not be disappointed. Life changing experience with the best guides
My travel home to Africa to visit the country Ghana was a life-changing event. To walk on the land of our ancestors, to learn the rich history of who we are, and to see firsthand of the cruelty that our ancestors survived so that we can be here today. None of this would have been possible without Awnui Tours agency. They are much more than hired individuals to show us some sights, they became our Ghana family and we are so thankful for them. Their attention to details, the flexibility to meet our needs and the genuine care they displayed, is one of many great experiences I had returning home to Africa. Thank you for all you did and will do with those who come after us, you are by far the best Tour guide agency in Ghana our second home. Ghana tour October , 2023 !
Awuni Ghana tour was the best. The driver Felix had complete control of the driving to a from the tours, and knowledge of the city a villages streets. I was able to take naps on the way, an never had to put on brakes on the floor. Nice smile a great personality!!! Felix, I will never think I am the best driver again!! Emmanuel was so caring. He made sure I had personal assistance getting on the van, stairs, checking to see if I was keeping up! I am 77 years young. He also took all pictures an videos for us everywhere we went . Great photographer. He also negotiated prices for us at the market place. Most of all I was given a picture in a beautiful frame of myself selling tomatoes at the market! Trip of a lifetime
The absolute best experience! My cousin and I decided to go to Ghana for our birthdays. And I have to say a hugeee thank you to Francis and Mike! Everything surpassed my expectations. They definitely went above and beyond to make sure myself and my cousin were very well taken care of and that we enjoyed ourselves. Mike was our guide/driver for the duration of our time there and it was always a great time with him. We all would laugh and joke all day. Felt like family. Each day went smoothly, even if any adjustments had to be made. Everything was always well communicated. We enjoyed so many beautiful cultural aspects. We tried authentic food, which was delicious. LIFE CHANGING EXPERIENCE
100 characters can't express the life changing experience I shared with strangers that turned into family with Francis, David, Emmanuel, and Francis .. My trip was life changing, I felt so connected as soon as my feet hit the ground in Ghana 🇬🇭.. The tours to Volta and Ashanti regions were exceptionally designed for an unforgettable experience! I felt safe, and all my needs were met while touring. I had a previous injury and brought my rollator to assist with my mobility. Francis and his team were VERY patient and accommodating! A most special 50th birthday
Wish I had more space to praise Francis, Emmanuel and Felix. They were so accommodating to the specific needs of our group. Our flight was delayed 23 hours, but they found a way to not only squeeze everything in but to also add in 3 celebrations of my birthday not included in the paid package. I highly recommend booking your Ghana tour with Awuni tours. We are now family.
